Hello from a hot, humid, sticky, sweaty London. The air is muggy, the concrete radiates a dull heat and hair sticks to the back of my neck. We’re having a heatwave in England, and boy is it hot here. Ben and I are down in London for a few days arranging our Vietnam visas. It’s been a long day, with a 5am alarm and a 2.5 hour drive into Shoreditch, where we’re staying over the weekend.
We were in and out of the Vietnam Embassy by 10.30, so have spent a few hours wandering to Leadenhall Market and Tower Bridge. If you didn’t know, Leadenhall Market is a beautiful Victorian market hall, and was used as the location for Diagon Alley and The Leaky Cauldron in the Harry Potter films! It’s such a beautiful building, although not very big. We then strolled down to the river and went inside Tower Bridge for the first time. You can climb both the towers and walk between them on a glass walkway – I’m not going to lie, it took a few baby steps and some big breaths – it’s high up! We’re back at the hotel chilling now, watching the France vs Uruguay match. We’ve got a few things we want to do while we’re here, so I’m going to do some planning before finding somewhere nice to eat. Any recommendations for while we’re down here are more than welcome 🙂 x
