Behind The Scenes with Davy J

Behind The Scenes with Davy J

I had such a blast taking part in a photoshoot for the ethical and sustainable swimwear brand Davy J on Friday. It was an early start as we drove to Lyme Regis on the Dorset coast, meeting up with the small team and Helen, the founder of the brand. Helen is doing incredible things, creating durable and stylish swimwear created from ocean waste. Not only are the pieces beautiful to look at, they are durable and tough for active women. Helen won a Women of the Future Award in the Entrepreneurship category, and I just know she is going big places with Davy J.

The clock hadn’t ticked over to 9am before we were plunging into a very choppy sea off the harbour wall, trying to look as photogenic as you can when your nose is running from the cold and you’re swallowing your own body weight in sea water! Helen wanted us to just have fun, while Matt the photographer did his thing. And we had SO much fun. I’d forgotten how amazing a cold swim in the morning feels. It’s so refreshing and energising, and we all splashed around for the best part of 2 hours. The sun shone hot and bright all day, and we enjoyed a late afternoon picnic on the beach before calling it a day. Here are a few photos I took when I had a spare minute, but I can’t wait to see what the final photos turn out like.
