Campuhan Ridge Walk in Ubud

Campuhan Ridge Walk in Ubud

Working on the road means that even when we’re in places with a million and one things to do, sometimes we have to get our heads down and push through the emails. This week has been one of those weeks. I also came down with a sore throat and a bad cough, and we had to slow down even more than we already had. I always want to be on the move and seeing things, but we have decided to travel slow and to travel long, and sometimes that means chilling at the villa, working on the veranda and taking life at a steadier pace.

So one morning when we had a moment to ourselves, we went to Campuhan Ridge. It’s a popular short walk that you can easily get to from the centre of Ubud, passing over a river valley and into a small village in the rice fields. Even in the morning sun it was searingly hot, and we were glad of a drink by the end, finding a cute cafe overlooking a peaceful lotus garden. I think it was a spa here too, and it was so relaxing to sit here and chat and unwind. The walk back was a hot one, and it was with a lot of joy that we jumped in the pool when we got back. Ubud life eh!

Bamboo huts and lotus ponds should be everywhere

I think this place was a spa too. It was so peaceful
